In Happiness in 8 cups of tea, I take you on a journey along the Eightfold Path of yoga, the path that describes yoga as a lifestyle and is more than practicing yoga during a class at home or in the studio.
Yoga means connection, to your heart, yourself and the world around you.
I was touched by the Eightfold Path of yoga during my first yoga class, there I discovered that yoga is a lifestyle.
It is about living non-violently, about discovering your own truth and expressing it, about being grateful and content and continuing to develop yourself.
Around my 30th birthday, I decided to go on a journey.
I wanted to reinvent myself and discover if happiness is indeed an attitude to life.
Buddha’s quote is a daily reminder that happiness does not come from outside, that it is within.
Yet it took a very long time before I could really live and feel this, I kept looking for something outside myself to become happy for a long time.
After 5 years of traveling without improvement, I came to a turning point and started following the Eightfold Path of Yoga.
To find peace, live more effortlessly and lightly and experience more freedom. In Happiness in 8 cups of tea, I show you that the elements of the Eightfold Path are very applicable in every life, even though the teachings are over 2,000 years old.
It is always applicable in your life precisely because the teachings are so universal and also everyday.
By embracing yoga as a lifestyle, you experience more peace, love and freedom.
Happiness in 8 cups of tea consists of three parts.
In the first part 1, I tell you about my life up until the moment I decided to follow the Eightfold Path.
In this part I tell you all about the moments when I was consciously happy or unhappy and what caused them, I take you on a journey through my life.
In part two you will find the theory about the Eightfold Path.
I tell you what the 8 paths mean, in understandable language, what you can do with them in daily life and how integrating the paths has changed my life.
In part 3 you will discover what you can do to achieve more peace, love and freedom in your life.
In it you will find all kinds of useful tips and tricks to apply in your daily life.
Activities like yoga and meditation, seeking silence in nature, letting your creativity flow and much more!
The book includes some tasty and simple recipes for a healthy diet.
And a recipe to organize your own home retreat!
